"And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have
confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming. If you know that He is
righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be
called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did
not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been
revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be
like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him
purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 2:28-29; 3:1-3 NKJV
What a dreadful moment it was when God appeared before Israelites on Mt.
Sinai with fire, thick cloud, and earthquake! And what a day that will be when
the Lord Jesus Christ appears again! There are only two possibilities for all
human beings at His appearing, either to be confident or be ashamed before Him.
There is no gray area to stand at His majestic appearance. You can stand with
confidence and boldness before Him when you continue to abide in Him, being
gripped and possessed by Him. This indicates the continual fellowship with the
Father and the Son Jesus Christ, the complete and total dependence on the works
of Christ Jesus in each and every business of life.
Not all people are the children of God, but those who respond to His
drawing by faith are. The mark of the children of God is righteousness which
comes from God. Righteousness means what God is and behaves. Righteousness
fulfills justice without violating love. It also fulfills love without hurting
justice. His righteousness has been demonstrated in the Son Jesus Christ who
became the sacrificial Lamb of God in our place. God has fulfilled both justice
and love perfectly in the cross of the Son. He has punished the sin of the
world through the Son once for all, completely and perfectly fulfilling justice
to punish sin and love to liberate sinners from the bondage of sin as He
promised long before.
So, whoever practices righteousness is born of Him. Those who are born of
God knew what manner of love the Father has bestowed on them, that they should
be called the children of God! God loved them when they were powerless to do
anything in due time. And yet outwardly it has not been revealed what we shall
be, but we know that when He appears we will be like Him, for we shall see Him
as He is. What a day that will be!
There is coming a day,
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
When no heart aches shall come,
No more clouds in the sky,
No more tears to dim the eye,
All is peace forever more,
On that happy golden shore,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
There'll be no sorrow there,
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
No more burdens to bear,
No more sickness, no pain,
No more parting over there;
And forever I will be,
With the One who died for me,
What a day, glorious day that will be.
What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be
