Where Are You? (Genesis 3:9)

"Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9 NKJV)

"Where are you?" This is the first question God asked the fallen race. This is the same question God asks all of us now. It is not the question of geographic location. Rather, it is the question of what we are. "Why are you hiding from me?" "Who told you that you are naked?" That is the profound and probing question for the lost race.

"Why are our lives so painful, difficult, sorrowful, hurtful?" "Why do we want to hide from the face of God?" We don't mean to hurt others at all. We do want to encourage others. But we find ourselves exactly the opposite over and over again. Why do we experience the unwarranted things?

Our God knows why. So, He asks all of us, "Where are you?" God is saying, "Come unto me, I will give you the answer. I will teach you if you listen to Me." It's an invitation of our God. He is calling all of us gently and kindly and waiting patiently. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28 NKJV)

Our God delights to teach the truth which set us free indeed. "Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31, 32 NKJV)

It is free but only to those who come. It is freely and abundantly available but only to those who take it by faith. "And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. (Revelation 22:17 NKJV)
