Unsearchable Riches in Christ (Ephesians 3:8-9)

“Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.” (Ephesians 3:8-9)

Another year passed and yet new one has come. Year 2017 was as usual as any other years and as dramatic as any other years and as crazy as any other years. Home church ministries are being continued with expected and unexpected turns. As children grew and left home, my wife and I remain. Many thoughts had passed and are still coming and going what to do next.

The bible teaching ministries are going on and engaged with an elder group, women’s group (led by my wife), individually college professor, new college graduate, and father of two children, though among them none is coming to our service. The ministries which we didn’t intend to initiate and engage has begun by grace. These men and women attend their own churches, serving the Lord and communities they belong. Grateful and thankful for God who has been so gracious to us all that we share our hurts and joys together and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, especially the new covenant living in the cross of Christ.

Since our children left home church, my wife and I are keeping the service. It is not settled yet, probably not soon. Two of us studied the Book of Revelation up to Chapter 12. The last visions and revelations which God soon will accomplish by the Son Jesus Christ. Though mysterious it is, hard to imagine and understand it is, yet it gives hope in the eternal salvation and imprints the faithfulness of the Lord God despite of hopelessness and unfaithfulness in our side. It is a blessing and waring for it says what it has to say and be fulfilled soon, very soon.

It’s my tenth year of teaching at a community college. Still doing things as usual during commute hours, listening and searching the revelations of truth in the Scriptures. Learning is a process, long way to go, even lifetime. It is moving forward like growth. Baby grows to toddler, to youth, and to adult. More and more in the invisible realm I am interested to learn.

Life is complicated and complex as it is what it is. Merciful God is not leaving us alone to find what it is and how it is and why it is. The Scriptures are given to humanity as God’s gift for the long search process. Light is shining and even penetrating into the dull and downtrodden hearts and minds of searchers, awakening and giving warnings and strength. It needs both the Old and the New, from Moses’ Pentateuch, History, Literatures, Prophets, Four Gospels, Epistles, and the Book of Revelation.

Daunting and challenging it is in the pain of growing process like birth pain. Many are trying but many leaving, shaking their heads or shrugging their shoulders. Not so. It requires endurance and patience for it is still under school time. Life on earth is temporal and fleeting, being swallowed up by the power of death. It is not the end of story! Good news! Life goes on to eternity, an unsearchable riches in Christ, so we in effect are preparing for it as long as we are earthbound.

This search I am engaged from my birth is not from me but from the Father in heaven. He draws nearer and nearer to him through all things—humdrum and mundane things, tribulations, perplexities, suffering pains and exquisite joys, and the entire lives streamed by second by second. Experience may be quite different from the revelations of truth. I don’t understand everything, so it is my hope to be fulfilled according to what the Lord promised. Struggles and wrestles are making me tired and weary. But I see it is not true that the Father is out of sight, but more engaged in, all in my trials.

Mysteries of Christ it is to learn as the most urgent lesson and revelation of all. It is the hidden treasures in the cross of Christ Jesus the Lord. He is the way, the life, and the truth. The way is through the cross of death. The life is through the blood of Christ. The truth is the Son sent by the Father and went back to him to be seated in the highest heaven at the right hand of God through the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. The mystery of Christ has been kept hidden in ages and generations but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. The glorious riches of this mystery revealed is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Focus not to lose the balance. I am still under construction. God is not yet done. But he will as promised in teaching and caring of me to love one another as Christ Jesus demonstrated his love while blind and darkened in ignorance and unbelief. I am on the way to discover this mystery of boundless riches in Christ and will continue in the years to come, even now. Loving each other starts my families, church members, neighbors, and communities. It is a daily duty to exercise and practice in Christ who is giving his life for me to do it. Christ opens all opportunities! Everything coming from him and nothing coming from me! Lord bless!

Keep sharing the thoughts and minds with others through the blogs as a faithful servant of the words of truth entrusted by the Lord Jesus.
Not forget that salvation is in entirety from beginning to end the territory of God. I have not an iota of credit for salvation in God and am a servant who goes to the right when told to go right and to the left when told to go left. I am a jar of clay. Life is not knowledge only but living his life, the eternal life.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again. (by Annie J Flint)
