A Mature Man (Ephesians 4:13)

"until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:13)

The whole scripture is aiming at the growth of man to be like Jesus Christ. Man is lost and fallen since the first Adam failed to obey the commandment of God. So, God sent His Son Jesus to save the fallen race out of bandage and darkness.  His redeeming grace overpowers the devil, the prince of the world and released the captives.

That's the beginning of God's program for the children of light. God is eternal and immortal. Jesus Christ came and demonstrated the life that our God intended man to live even before the creation of the world. The secret of the life is "Christ on you," the hope of glory.

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." (John 5:19)

Christ was in the Father and the Father in Him, the total communion between the Father and the Son. Jesus completely and totally relied on the the Father who lavishly provided everything for the Son. He is the pioneer and perfecter the of our faith. Jesus prays for His children to grow mature like Him.

"that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.  I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—  I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:21-23)
